Text Box: The City of Ferndale, once “a little village in the shadow of a big city” has blossomed into a hip urban community that still maintains small-town values. As the gateway into Oakland County, Ferndale is situated at the intersections of Eight Mile Boulevard and historic Woodward Avenue, as well as, I-696 & I-75. In addition, its well-developed infrastructure featuring railway and public transportation make Ferndale the perfect place for professionals, businesses, students, and families.

The active involvement of Ferndale residents and businesses in the community has earned Ferndale the slogan of “Good Neighbors” and provides plenty of events to enjoy. Hundreds of Ferndale’s approximately 21,000 residents serve voluntarily on city commissions, committees and other organizations to help make Ferndale a better community to live and work.

Ferndale’s businesses and residents are known for their progressive ideas, forward-thinking and, above all, friendliness. It’s no surprise that Ferndale is the birthplace of the annual Woodward Dream Cruise, the largest one-day festival in the world.

Ferndale is committed to valuing diversity. Its citizens and eclectic businesses share a welcoming approach to neighbors, visitors and customers alike. All are invited to take part in Ferndale’s active community and to soak up its positive energy.

Welcome to Ferndale
