Community Support
As a long-time supporter of the community, member businesses of the Ferndale Area Chamber give back to the community through individual or coordinated volunteer efforts, donations and event sponsorships.
In 2008, the Ferndale Area Chamber developed a community give-back program in which designated sponsorship dollars raised goes back to a local charity or in a scholarship fund the Chamber has set up. The Chamber will shortly begin issuing an annual scholarship to a graduating Ferndale High School student who plans to study business at an accredited university.
In addition, each year the chamber participates in and promotes events such as:
- Ferndale Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society
- annual blood drive for the American Red Cross
- annual fundraiser for Higher Ground
- donation to the Taste of Ferndale Silent Auction
- donation to Bowlathon for Oakland Livingston Human Services Agency
- designated charity partner for annual golf outing
- annual Hilton Fall Festival in partnership with Ferndale Recreation
